PathAway GPS 4 - Upgrade Installation Notes

Ie. HotSync, then go to your Palm Backup folder on your PC and copy all the PathAway database files to a separate folder. Copy the saved data to the Backup folder and HotSync.

Notes on upgrading from PathAway 3

PathAway GPS 4 will run along-side with PathAway GPS 3. You don't need to remove PathAway GPS 3 before running PathAway GPS 4. However, the Projlib.prc is not compatible between versions. This will affect you if you use Projected maps, or maps of different datums other than WGS84. You will need to install ProjLib.prc for the version of PathAway you wish to use. This program cn be found in your Start Menu->PathAway GPS 3 (or 4) by clicking on the "PathAway Palm" folder. Locate Projlib.prc and and install it using Palm Quick Install.

When you are ready to remove PathAway GPS 3. DO NOT delete it using the Palm OS Launcher - Delete options. This removes all associated databases as well. To Remove PathAway GPS 3, download and install our PathAway GPS 3 Remover. Run this application to remove only the PathAway GPS 3 program.

Notes on upgrading from PathAway 2

Please note, the Route/Track and Point Databases have changed from version 1 and 2. Upon startup, You will be asked to convert your databases when the program is run. The program requires conversion of these databases to perform optimally. Answer Yes to convert once you have safely backed up your critical data.
