scan map and use pathaway?

Postby naviguesser74 » Sat Feb 04, 2006 11:59 pm

since there is no way to use the provided software on a mac, is it possible to scan a map using a scanner and a mac, save the file in a certain format, put it on a SD card and use pathaway on a palm with that map?

Hi

Pathaway on Palm use pdb format

You can use virtual PC on Mac to convert jpg files to pdb
or try this
http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1 and use a command line to convert jpg to pdb

Thanks for the info on DOSBox, Phil. I download it and the Mac OS interface. When I launch, I don't have a clue as to how to configure it to convert a jpg to a bmp. Do you know how? Isn't there some other graphic converter program that does this? I seem to recall looking into this before. If I knew I could scan a map, calibrate it and use Pathaway, I would buy Pathaway in a heartbeat. I wish there were a way to do this using a Mac. I am currently trying to achieve the same thing using GPSPilot's "Tracker" but I am having trouble calibrating a scanned map.
