Resolved: New Bluetooth GPS will not connect

Postby voyageurs60 » Thu Dec 06, 2007 5:32 am

I have purchased a new GPSr for use with PathAway

Tungsten T2
GlobalSat BT-328
PA v4.00.74

GPS Configuration settings:
Protocol: GlobalSat-NMEA
Port: Bluetooth
Baud: 4800

When I choose connect Bluetooth Discovery starts.

Discovery Results - BT-GPS-334E09 with a key symbol to the right.

When I choose OK - it tries to connect and then gives me the error:

Invalid GPS Device Configuration Err:780

OK - I did something wrong - what is the solution?

Thanks,

Have you tried pairing it via the Palm screen first?
(Bluetooth icon in status bar->Pref->Trusted devices->Add)

Thanks for the reply - I do not understand your question.

On the main Palm application screen there is no bluetooth icon.

Thanks

The Bluetooth configuration is in Preferences/Communication/Bluetooth.

If you pair the GPSr with the Palm via prefs first, it should work fine.

(I'm on a T3, it may be different for other devices).
I have a icon strip along the bottom of the screen, one of the icons is the Bluetooth B symbol. Or, as another poster has suggested, you can get to it through Prefs.

Thanks for the help - What I had to do was delete the 2
bluetooth devices - my olf BT-308 and the previous
trusted device the BT-328. I then followed the instructions
to add a new device, input the pass code when asked, this did
not place the KEY symbol in the window.

Started PA4 and connected - it searched for the BT-328 2 times
and the 2nd time it connected.

Have a great weekend.
