"GARMIN-GARMIN" serial on Tungsten T5

Postby falledd » Fri Mar 17, 2006 1:30 am

I am using Pathaway 4.00.28 on a PalmOne Tungsten T5 and an Garmin GPSmap 60 CS. Now I wish to download/upload tracks/routes/waypoints from/to the Garmin GPS. Unfortunately I am not able establish an connection between these two devices with the "Garmin-Garmin"-protocol ("Garmin-NMEA" is working fine). To connect the PDA and the GPS-handheld I am using a serial cable.
Other Programs like "GPilotS" are able to download/upload tracks/routes/waypoints from/to the Garmin GPS without any problem. So I am quite sure that pathaway has an little problem to handle communication via serial port on a Tungsten T5.

Do anyone know an workaround for this problem? Or better: Will PathAway fix the problem some time?

Hello,

I have exactly the same probleme with my TX and my Garmin GPSV. Work fine in NMEA mode, fail in Garmin mode with pathaway 3 and 4.00.30 and Cetus GPS 1.2b6, but work in garmin mode with GPilotS 6.4. I use pcables cable or pc-mobile cable.

After a little googling, i find this links :

and
http://www.handango.com/PlatformProduct ... ctId=64193

You can dowload a trial version of serialfix.

But i don't know if it resolv the problem.

Yes ;-) !
Pathway work in NMEA and GARMIN mode with pcable without PowerOut drivers (pcable PowerOut or Aladin PowerOut) BUT with SupplyNet drivers (Disabling Flow Control). May be Enabling/Disabling FC could be an option parameter in PathAway ?

But, GPS Sky View (signals bar are not displayed) and Satellite Data View (all column equal to zero) and 2D/3D fix logo (always 2D) don't work and many crash (palm reboot) after a long time use !

Garmin GPSV firmware 2.50
PathAway 4.0.31
Palm T|X
pcable serial cable
