GPX - Format

Postby F800ST » Wed May 06, 2009 10:37 pm

I have some problems to import gpx file. Which ist the correct format for pathaway to import a route and follow a route?

My gpx-data-file
<trkpt lat="47.120463" lon="8.579280">

Which is the Format for
a) Geocaching
b) to follow a route (path) by walking

May be
a) <wpt> wptType </wpt>
b) <rte> rteType </rte>

both included
lat="latitudeType" (Breite)
lon="longitudeType" (Länge)

I think its better to give pathaway the correct format for import.
Then there is no trouble or surprise by replaying

I have reading the user manual: Import only *.nmea or *.txt.
*.gpx and *.loc only for waypoints.

So the question is to change *.gpx-tracks in *.nmea with GPSbabel :?:

Change by GPSbabel:
Input GPX XML (.gpx)
What? Waypoints
Output NMEA 0183 sentences

no filter :!:
May be simplify limit to

Import by Pathaway and ready :-)

Best Regards

The <Rte> and <rtept> will create a route that you can follow, however, you can also use the <trk> option and just Follow the track as well.

PathAway can import and use them either way.

Our GPX import supports Routes, Tracks, and Waypoints.
