Frozen Screen with PathAway Logo - Galaxy S3
Posted: Sat Jun 29, 2013 1:22 pm
I get every now and then during navigation a black frozen screen with the PathAway logo. The only solution I've found so far is to kill the app. I am using Samsung Galaxy S3. What is this frozen screen? Bug? How can I get rid of this frozen screen?

I also have the same problem with a Lenovo A2109a tablet. The pathaway logo appears then - nothing. Killing the app usually solves the problem.

In the mean time I have noticed that if I wait long enough, Android tells me that PathAway is not responding anymore. This seems to be a hang situation in PathAway.
Is anybody from PathAway monitoring this forum? My original message is a month old, and nobody commented.

Scott is the only one who answered the questions in the forum. But only very sporadically.
Here he reacts faster:

I'm aware of this problem happening occasionally. If we can reproduce the problems, they can be fixed. I believe the updates we're working on will provide more stability. In the meantime, if you have a repeatable set of steps we can follow to reproduce the problem, then please fill out a problem report and send it to us.

i have the same problem with a Samsung s3 and a Acer iconia Tablet. with the Tablet i could solve the problem by locking the screen so that the screen does not tourns arround by turning the tablet. i did not try this bugfix with the Samsung. But the tablet was stable during a tour through the woods

this week end I've made a 2 day trip with PA. I have switched off the Android automatic screen rotation. I did not see the PA hang during this trip at all. The screen rotation really seems to cause the problem.
