PWMapConvert and .jpr files

Postby jkaplan » Thu Aug 04, 2005 2:49 am

Hello,

I am trying to use PWMapConvert to convert some .bmp format maps to PathAway format. I have created a .jpr file to define the projection and extents of the map. Here is a sample .jpr file I have prepared:

G:\maps\topo_maps\canada\drg>more 092B14.jpr
it=bmp
nm=092B14_MayneIsland
dm=WGS84
rp1=49.0000115,-123.5025320,0,0
rp2=48.7500327,-123.0000869,7350,5582
pr=utm
pp=-123

G:\maps\topo_maps\canada\drg>PWMapConvert 092B14.jpr,8
PathAway Map Converter 3.10.02
Batch Convert: str 1, 1979 of 1979
converted ok

PWMapConvert and .jpr files III

Postby jkaplan » Thu Aug 04, 2005 2:51 am

A file called 092B14_MayneIsland.prc is produced, but it seems that none of the projection or calibration information in the .jpr file is stored in this .prc file.

Any help or suggestions you may have would be much appreciated!

Thank you.

Using PWMapConvert with calibratin files

Postby Guest » Fri Aug 05, 2005 2:34 am

Hi!
I have very much the same problems as described in the previous posts: I tried to convert a map file (BMP format) with appropriate calibration file (JPR format) with the comand line tool PWMapConvert and found the same results, i.e. the saved file (PRC) contains no calibration information at all.
When the same map file is opened (>Import new map) using the MapManager all calibration parameters are imported correctly, which means the calibration file should be valid.

I also would appreciate any help on this problem.

Thanks,
Andy

I have 300 jpr files that I need to convert to PW. I tried using the PWMapconvert command line tool and the PRC file has the wrong data in it.
I also tried to use the Map Manager (importing the JPR file and saving as PW map) and the resulting PRC file was OK. That means that the JPR is OK, it has to be something with the PWMapconver command line.
