|

I have exported a portion of German TOP50 map from Fugawi to PathAway. The export worked fine, however I had to calibrate the map on the PDA again, although the map was calibrated on the Laptop already.
I s this "as designed" or bug or user error?

1. Once sent to PathAway, the map should be calibrated. If not please send a report to Fugawi.
2. What exactly is the problem you are having exporting the map to Fugawi? There was an issue with very large maps where Fugawi ran out of memory to prepare the conversion. If this is the problem then it should also be reported to Fugawi because it was identified as a problem on their side. |

| The problem I have is that in the fugawi uk digital mapping PC software I can not find a menu option to export or save a map ( except to send it under the PDA menu to the win mobile PDA I have). If I use the pathway PC map manager with the <import new map option> and select the map that I have created to send to the Fugawi mobile software, I get the error message D:\<....>.fx4 can not be opened make sure the file is not being used by another program, which it isn't. The pathway map manager does seem to import the sample .fx3 maps that I had from the demo eg Europe.fx3 or Canada.fx3 but not any .fx4 files. Grateful for any help you can give |

Birdseye, I have the same problem with Fugawi UK FX4 maps. The import function in MapManager only relates to image files like jpgs and bmps so I had assumed that Pathaway 5 would read FX4 files directly.
Nowhere in the MapManager or Pathaway manuals do the words 'Fugawi' or 'FX4' appear so that would appear to leave us high and dry. |

| Check with Fugawi on this. Perhaps you need to upgrade to their Global Navigator 4.5+. FX4 is a proprietary format so PathAway Map Manager cannot read it directly. |

You need to create maps compatible to PathAway by using Fugawi 4.5 or higher. There is a function within in Fugawi. All maps that can be shown by Fugawi can be exported to PathAway.
You cannot use fx4 maps directly. No foreign software can use it because its format is secret. |

Hi Scott:
Currently using Fugawi 3, yeah I know it's older but it works great on the laptop......so what happens if I don't have fugawi 4.5.....How do I take the BSB nautical charts from Fugawi 3 to my Ipaq2750 PDA into PathAway.
Thanks Sonya |

Hi,
If you don't process fugawi 4.5 than you can get some of the information from the sites like freeboatingcharts.com nauticalcharts.noaa.gov , where you may get some of the pre-created charts. Else you may PM to administrator for further information. |

Hi:
Thanks for the support, already been in touch with people @ fugawi. Don't think they really know how to transfer the charts directly either as they don't support Fugawi 3 any more. I'll keep working on it. Got to be a way....I have currently loaded my BSB charts to a separate CD and maybe figure things out that way.....
Thanks Sonya |
