I am new to pathway and am currently running the trial and can say its the best android app I have seen to date. I purchased the navionics app but the chart of my location (Jeddore Harbour Nova Scotia) is offset by about 250ft 30degrees making it almost useless.
The problems I am having with pathaway are:
1.
I have used map manager to create a pathaway file from a chart image in png and this works great!
I also used map manager to import a set of google earth images that I had created for another package in .kap format. They loaded in fine but if I try to move the image even a fraction the map disappears (this doesent happen with the chart created from a .png)
2.
The user guide suggests you can use one of the dashboard slots to display current gps status, but there is no option for this in the elements that can be added to a dashboard slot.
3. What does the import function do within the app? is it redundant (if you just need to copy maps to pathaway dir? |

Most likely there is a problem with the map calibration. Check the settings in Map Manager and correct them.
If you have trouble, you can send me a map and I'll take a look. |

You could be right. I created them from google earth using a utility GE2KAP.
They load into opencpn fine and have no problems moving around.
I converted using pathaway map manager. when I do a show details in the map view in pathaway, the top left and bottom right are completely wrong.
When importing I just import the .kap and save as pathaway... correct?
I will attach the .kap and the .pcl for your perusal.
If I can get this to work and can batch transfer around 100 .kaps to prc I will certainly purchase... Can you give me a bit of a pointer how to batch convert .kap files, I cant find any guidance on the site. |
