hi.
is the prc file format documented somewhere? i'd just like to read a map's position (north/south/east/west). from what i can figure out so far, it has some tags (BMPK, DESC, DATE, ORWD, ORHT, TLLG, TLLT, BRLG, BRLT, MCAL, MVEH, MATT, etc) and then probably an embedded bmp image?
hm. while writing this... position is probably in TLLG, TLLT, BRLG and BRLT , followed by 6 bytes each. any clue on the number format?
on a second note... does pathaway support loading any lossy compressed image formats such as jpeg?
regards,
stefan. |

well, no docs, so somebody figured it out by himself .
http://www.pocketnavigation.net/board/thread.php?threadid=1034988
has a program to create an overview of all your prc maps in google earth. the dox are in german, but you simply download mapmaster.zip from there (dont unpack!) and call it like that:
java -jar mapmaster.zip M:\PathAway
(with your own path to your PathAway maps obviously).
It will scan the given directory and create M:\PathAway\_mapmaster.kml ready to be launched with googleearth (4.0beta required).

Great tool!
But ... it seems not to be able to make overview of all maps.
If a map is created with MapAway for example it will not find it as a map
Maybe someone who is good at java programming can look into it? |
