Remote Send/Receive Formats

Destination Address Format:

Sending VIA SMS: Enter the phone number of the destination.

Sanding VIA HTTP: This option allows the location to be sent via HTTP POST or HTTP GET. To do this, enter the command such as "Post http://webaddress.com/somethingelse". The location parameters will be a part of the Get or post sequence with the format LOC=$PWS.

PathAway sends the following sets of data in the SMS message. PathAway Automatically detects and parses this format when received. Each parameter is separated by a comma (,)

$PWS,version number, name, icon, color, UTCDate, UTCtime, latitude, longitude, elevation, speed, course, comment

Capability: Send and Receive

Item Definition:

$PWS: Message identifier

Version number: should be 1

Name: Owner Name of device of Tracking vehicle/person.

Icon: Name of Icon to use to display on screen. ie. 1 or Vehicles:Airplane

Color: Color to use for UI display. Hexadecimal RGB format. 00RRGGBB. ie. Black=0, White=00FFFFFF, Blue=000000FF, Red = 00FF0000

UTCdate: UTC Date of position, DDMMYY, ie. 14/04/06. (April 14, 2006)

UTCtime: UTC time of position, HHMMSS.ss ie. 132530.50 (1:25 pm 30.5 seconds)

Latitude: Latitude in Decimal degrees. Greater than 0 is North Latitude. ie. 45.23453, -78.42453

Longitude: Longitude in Decimal degrees. Greater than 0 is East Longitude.

Elevation: Elevation in Feet

Speed: Speed in Nautical Miles per hour

Course: Course in decimal degrees. 0 to 359

Comment: A text comment.

Touratech-QVPos

SMS Send: Supported

HTTP Retrieve Request: Supported for Touratech Tracking Gateway

This is Touratech's customized format, sent only to and from Touratech's Tracking Gateway. Essentially, this is an RMC called with extensions for Remote ID, and elevation. Contact Touratech for details on this format. PathAway Automatically detects and parses this format when received.

PathAway Setup:

Send/Retrieve Format: Touratech-QVPOS
Http Send Format Options: Enter Username and password as provided by Touratech. Choose "Other" for Remote ID, and enter your IMEI as provided by Touratech:
Http Retrieve Format Options: Enter Username and password as provided by Touratech. Enter the IMEI of the location to retrieve or leave blank to retrieve all remotes.

NMEA GGA

Standard NMEA GGA call. Note, this format is not recommended because the GGA call does not include a date stamp, or a user identifier. In the case where the location is received via SMS, the SMS number will be used as Remote ID. PathAway Automatically detects and parses this format when received.

Standard NMEA RMC call. Note, this format is not recommended because the RMC call does not include elevation data, or a user identifier. Compatible with formats sent from MTG-19b microtrackers. These microtrackers send SMS only, however, PathAway can send and receive a location in this format via HTTP as well. This format includes a nonstandard RMC sentence, along with a Remote ID. This format does not include elevation data. PathAway Automatically detects and parses this format when received.

Compatible with formats sent from MTW-4s microtrackers. This is a nonstandard RMC (one "," is missing before the checksum) call with a Remote ID in front. This format includes elevation data after the RMC checksum. PathAway Automatically detects and parses this format when received.
